A/F Ring Options?
Been searching for some A/F rings for my Evo 8, haven't found any anywhere. Needing some because I feel that the stock bottom end is OK for ~400whp, and I don't feel the forged piston/rings are worthwhile. Ontop of that, OE rings are ~175 - at that point, I'd be better off shelling the extra 100 or so for new pistons.

I must admit a true bit of confusion here..
How do rings make a engine block more reliable when truely its the rods that break/bend and the pistons that crack at higher horsepower levels.

Never seen it happen on one of these cars though I have seen pistons crack, in half pins go through the side of the motor, and some of the coolest carnage was when the rod smacks into the balance shaft..
If your going to tear your motor apart you may as well do it once and do it right imho drop in pistons and rods.

Money is an issue, else I would have already.
And it's not that I didn't plan enough, it's that other issues came up. Life happens. (more commonly known as "**** happens")
But that doesn't answer my question of weither or not there are A/F rings.
