David is on track, any yes you are smart enough to explain it, but I will give a Readers Digest non engineering version. The air traveling between the floor and earth is X at speed. The area directly infront of and rearward of the rear axles is a low pressure area ie. larger volume, the air tends to slow and fill this area causing drag -X, which in straight line go fast applications is bad. With a properly designed rear diffuser (floor pan) this actually creates downforce with minimal drag. To find the proper diffuser takes 100's of combinations of diffuser angle and strake size. What David has done is to eliminate as much drag as possible with his component and clean up as much the low pressure, large volume area as possible and decrease lift in the rear. To you RS owners at 130 plus you know what I'm talking about. To create this in Carbon would be VERY expensive in tooling costs alone. This is a great part and has already shown it works. for David to take the time to do this. It is really a pain to have to do a one off tray and its worth the $ alone in being able to get one off the shelf. Indy

I wanted to see these pictures.
2nd picture. This is to show the break (bend) I put in the diffuser in the upper area near the rear sway bar. This break is there to keep the air from the control arm area from getting above the tray.
5th picture. The diffuser off the car and cut how it is shipped. The rivets and adhesive heat shield are also included. If you need to cut the diffuser to fit with a different exhaust the material is easy to work with. Just about any saw will cut it or even good tin snips.
