All You stroker guys..What is the best way to get 2.3 liters
I am thinking of going stroker, just wondering which would be better, destroke a 4g64 or add stroke and bore to 4g63? Or is the only difference between the 2 blocks the cylinder bore size..and the crank is the same?

2.3 = 2.0 block with 2.4 crank (and sometimes .020 bore, if the block needs cleaning up).
2.4 = 2.4 block with 2.4 crank (and sometimes .020 bore, if the block needs cleaning up)
2.1 = 2.4 block with 2.0 crank and boring the block (destroker)
The cranks are different 88mm vs. 100mm for the 2.4. The blocks are also different -- the deck height is higher for the 2.4 block, allowing the 100mm crank to be used...
There is also another option -- a crank that is in between the two. Eagle offers a 94mm crank. AMS offers their 2.3RR, which has an intermediate crank size. Magnus offers their billet crank in various crank sizes as well. These offer options for longer rod length (better rod ratio than a 2.3 stroker).

Ok So I assume the only diff between the 2.3 and 2.4 is the bore size. Which headgasket do you use for the motor then. I guess a cometic custom headgasket. A motor I would prefer is the destroke a 4g64 to a 2.2 or 2.3 Since the bore size is different I assume the spacing between cylinders is less on a 4g64 block so it would be easier to blow a headgasket?
