EVO IX - Ivey Re-Tuned for HKS Cams

As we all know there is a huge debate between Evo IX cams on these forums. I would like to share my experiences.

For Starters mods are in sig...

I added HKS EVO IX cams and headed to Ivey for a re-tune.

Final Numbers:

358.10 whp
350.22 wtq

23.5psi, 93 octane.

In my personal opinion I feel that the stock IX cams are great. Any power gains over the stock IX cams are a bonus. These HKS cams really shine in the low - mid range. Butt dyno felt good and comparing to my existing graph I gained roughly 10whp and 20wtq from 2,500rpms to 5,000rpms.

I do not have a scanner, but if anyone near Monmouth County NJ does and is willing to scan it in for me please PM me and I will meet up with you.

at 3,000 rpms the car made:

250wtq
145whp

at 5,000 rpms car made:

330wtq
315whp

at 7,000 rpms car made:

255wtq
340whp

Special thanks to Ivey for hooking me up with great customer service and a solid tune.

Kenny how did the club go Thanks for answering all my questions, I appreciate it. Chris thanks for fixing my boost leak.

Pretty good numbers, I wish there was a baseline to compare, but regardless good numbers. They seem to fall right in line with GSC and Cosworth Cams, judging by your mods, I'd be willing to bet you gained atleast 10 peak whp

No lope, idle just as good as stock.

3000ways I did gain 10 peak whp and 22 peak wtq from these cams.

If I take a pic with my cell phone, how do I post it. I want to post my graph.

Next for me is clutch, AMS Fmic, Meth, Green

As of right now I am very happy with the car.

I need to do a cam gear then re-tune. I would like to see how much the cam gear will do for me. Some say 5-10whp. That will put me right in range with you. The HKS IX cams with the right supporting mods DO make good usable power.

How come you guys with the 9 cams in this post are only making 358 and 362? I know people with 9's with no cams making 360-365 whp with the usual bolt ons(turbo-back with test pipe, o2 housing, intake, boost controller, fuel pump, 23 psi 93 octane).

i'd probably make 360WHP on a dynojet with just my buschur stage 1, dynos don't mean anything without a baseline, don't get hung up on dyno numbers

Every dyno is different, every car is different, different weather conditions.

I have only seen one 9 with turboback, 02 housing, intake, BC at 23psi, Fuel Pump and tune make 360whp. Without cams I made 350whp and 331wtq, with cams I made 358whp and 350wtq, cams just really helped out my torque curve. They didn't do too much for peak hp.

I am not trying to start a debate about which cams to go with but this the type of gain I think most people expect/recieve:
