HEEEEEllllllllppppppppppp the mechanic is working on the car right now... HEEEEEELLPP

Im reassembling my evo 9 mr motor..
what are the torque specs for the connecting rod cap nut.....
i searched and found this below...
im not doing the work, so i am relaying this info to someone else and i need to explain this over the phone... he is right now working on the car waiting for the specs...
how do i explain what is listed below... correctly ..
i guess "torque specs for dummies"

Pistons and connecting rods
Connecting rod cap nut 20 ± 2 (15 ± 1 ft-lb) + 90° to 94°

tell them torque to 15 foot pounds, then an extra 90 to 94 degrees. This is if you are using stock hardware. If you have aftermarket hardware, the torque specs will be dictated by that manufacturer.

IIRC that says tighten to 15 ft/lb then tighten more 1/4 turn

what is so hard about.....

if you cant make that out.... i dunno man.

probably confused with the dual listing in Nm and then ft-lb.

You know I just had this stupid question...

If a mechanic is working on the car how come he can't read the torque specs? Would you trust a mechanic that didn't know how to read torque specs?

! Make sure you use lots of lube - factory hardware/procedure is using engine oil. That's where they get the 15ft-lbs from. If you used moly, it may be a different torque. !

Here ya go:

And from the factory service manual:
>>F<< CONNECTING ROD CAP INSTALLATION
1. Verifying the mark made during disassembly, install the
bearing cap to the connecting rod. If the connecting rod is
new with no index mark, make sure that the bearing locking
notches are on the same side as shown.
2. Make sure that the connecting rod big end side clearance
meets the specification.
Standard value: 0.10 − 0.25 mm (0.004 − 0.009 inch)
Limit: 0.4 mm (0.015 inch).
>>G<< CONNECTING ROD CAP NUT TIGHTENING
1. The connecting rod bolts should be examined before reuse.
If the bolt threads are damaged, the bolt should be replaced.
Hand-thread the nut to the full length of the bolt threads. If
the nut does not run down smoothly, the bolt should be
replaced.
2. Before installation of each nut, apply engine oil to the
threaded portion and bearing surface of the nut.
3. Loosely tighten each nut to the bolt.
4. Then tighten the nuts alternately to a torque of 20 ± 2 N⋅m
(15 ± 1 ft-lb) to install the cap properly.
5. Make a paint mark on the head of each nut.
CAUTION
• If the nut is turned less than 90 degree angle, proper
fastening performance may not be achieved. Be careful
to tighten the nut exactly 90 degree angle.
• If the nut is overtightened (exceeding 94 degree angle),
loosen the nut completely and then retighten it by
repeating the tightening procedure from step 3.
6. Make a paint mark on the bolt end at the position 90 degree
angle to 94 degree angle from the paint mark made on the
nut in the direction of tightening the nut.
7. Turn the nut further 90 degree angle to 94 degree angle and
make sure that the paint marks on the nut and bolt are
aligned.

thanx guys.. i already told him..
the reason why the mechanic can read the specs is the car is at the shop across the international border... so i am just relaying the message to him..
and the only thing that kind of confused me was the dual listing...
i didnt want to take a guess and be completely wrong... trying to get my car running ... thanks once again..
