In order to keep condensation from pooling, sure. I have hadmy old evc v stepper motor apart before. It had a small hole at the bottom that looked like it was there to allow moisture to escape. Just talking about some very small holes, nothing major. Probably over thinking the whole thing but when it comes to such a pricey unit I'm paranoid
