Getting Tranny Rebuild What's The Best Gearing?

Keep the IX first gear.

Keep the IX second gear.

Evo VIII 3rd

Evo VIII 4th

Evo 8 fifth.

Should I get all the gears double synchro?

My car is currently stuck in 4th gear. That already tells me my 3-4 shift fork is screwed.

What do you guys think I should go with?

I drag race a little bit to much so I'm really considering getting all my synchro's doubled.

I will have Devo Tuning rebuild my trans.

There giving me a good price as far as labor and parts go.

then just stick with that gear setup... itll give you an extra few mph in 4th and make the shift to 5th a little easier on the parts...

I for one absolutely hate the EVO9 4th gear. Reaching for 5th at lapping days is horrible. I'm over powering my stock clutch and looking to do both the tranny and clutch at the same time.

Do you guys really think the EVO 8 3rd gear is worth the associated cost? On average each gear change costs $200. I definately see the need for the EVO8 4th gear but can't decide on the 3rd.

I believe Devo can give you a sick price on VIII gearing.

But you want to keep your IX first gear.

Devo Tuning Adam will be doing the rebuild. BTW if you haven't heard of Adam he use to be a mechanic at AMS.

He's getting the parts from Shep.
