So un-decided on what I want next....
....I just cant make up my mind.
The last time I made a thread like this, it was a 'Evo9 Turbo vs Cams'. Everyone told me to go with the cams, and that was a great decision because I love my new cams.
Now im looking to do something else. Im wanting to get into the 11s territory. I plan to upgrade to a GT30/35R down the road, but not anytime within the next 6 months, and would like to work with stock turbos, whether it be my current 9.8, upgrade to a 10.5 or just go for the EVO9. Since having the 9.8 right now, anything for me is a serious upgrade. I dont want to upgrade my fmic until I get a larger turbo so that is out of the question for now. Maybe a LICP as a basic mod.
Im looking for anything between 350-400whp. Rather do it on pump gas, but meth will be the next step if those goals are not achievable. LMK

.....
10.5, o2 housing, and meth there you go.
All that will be useless when you go big turbo though.
Waste of money IMO.
I would do FMIC, LICP, UICP and meth to prepare for the turbo upgrade.
That way you won't have to spend money on something you'll replace later.
Those mentioned above should net you around 350whp depending on the type of dyno used.

plus one on that. id just go ahead and upgrade the ic system fully and then worry about your turbo later on when youre ready to upgrade that way theres no loss of money but thats your decision and if youre gonna upgrade go with a fp green or a 20g9-lt

Hm, still un-sure. I guess I will probably shoot for licp & fmic, then just go for the gt30 kit. I wouldnt mind going with meth on my this current 9.8 turbo, but on a gt30, pump gas is all I will ever need out of that.

I've been seeing EVO9 turbos selling on EBAY for $350. This would be the best way to pick up 30whp and not lose any driveability.
When I had my eight I went from the 9.8 to the 10.5 and then to the EVO9 turbo. there are handsome increases to be had for each but I would recommend the EVO9 turbo. If you decide you want more power later have it modified into the 20G.
You aren't going to see any power from a LICP and UICP. Even the FMIC is actually a step backwards on a stock turbo. Why add weight and lag to the car if you don't need it. I got suckered into that on my 8 as well. I ended up going back to stock. You aren't going to heat soak the stocker on a drag race pass unless you are running your stock turbo higher than recommended.
Right now your turbo is limiting your cams and boost. Tossing on the EVO9 turbo with bigger cold and hotside will give you better returns than piping and FMIC.
Instead of buying parts that might help later.... buy parts that you will enjoy now. You may decide you don't need to upgrade to some laggy **** monster turbo after all.
Driving an 11 second instant spooling stock turbo evo is a blast. I would hate to have to wait for power especially at partial throttle.
