fluttering at part throttle sometimes

I've noticed sometimes at part throttle when I let off the gas in like 3rd, 4th, or 5th I will get a very small and faint flutter sounds just like compressor surge. I have the stock bpv and a buschur racing cone filter I wondering is this is normal or what it could be. I only hear it maybe once or twice a week

thanks

You will FEEL flutter. You probably hear the turbo "unspooling"

how much flutter? I have the BR filter also and in 4th and 5th it will sometimes flutter and depending it can sometimes flutter and shake. I have not logged it yet, but it seems recurring with the BR filter

Mine also does this. Seems mostly when I am barely building any boost and barely let off. It will even buck slightly sometimes.

yeah i have this going on for a while.... like say your crusiing on freeway in 5th(5spd)
and you just build like 5-6psi of boost by partial throttle, and then the bov starts fluttering like crazy until i either let off and gas more......if someone knows how to solve this that'd be GREATTTTTTTTTT!!!

its so annoying

no fixing this boys...........it's flutter from the DV. The best way to combat the problem is stick with the OEM DV. It's even worse with an aftermarket DV.

Same thing here. Evo IX with Buschur cone filter. Seems worse in cold weather.

Mine does it too, injen intake with stock DV Im at 6,200 feet. 4th and 5th gear at low boost low rpms causes mine to flutter when the car has resistance (driving up a hill)

Its normal part of the DV valve due to the pressure differences between the turbo slowing down and whats in the manifold makes the valve flutter/chatter/talk to you in sometimes its dramatic and short lasting and sometimes its softer and longer lasting. This is all normal operation.

it will definitely be worse in cooler weather as boost is easier to build in the intake piping while the intake manifold is at a much lower pressure since the throttle body is just cracked open, causing the pressure drop between the two. It's enough to open the bov.
