Bearing wear?

So, I just got an oil analysis report from Blackstone Labs, and it shows the lead content going up fairly significantly. My question is when will this become such a problem that I'll want to replace my bearings or put in a new engine? Then again, I have no idea what bearing this is. I am now officially taking it easy on my car (not that I drive it that hard anyway ).

If it's just lead then your not into the copper yet so you might get away with sizing some bearings and slipping them in.

Perhaps your oil got dirty increasing wear a little - who knows. Need someone else more familiar with testing than I

I guess the real question is, how long do I have? And what does the lead vs. copper content mean? I am assuming lead = bearings. Copper would be what exactly?

Thanks for the response.

I'm curious what the Mountain driving has to do with it. I also send a sample to them every other oil change, with great results. What type of oil are you using? How many miles on that oil?

I don't do any mountain/canyon driving. I think he was implying that perhaps if I flogged the car, that could be the culprit. I only drive my car on the street and it has 72,800 miles on it. Never been to the track for either road racing or drag racing.

Have used Mobil 1 10W-30 the entire life of the car. You can see I only had 3,250 or so miles on the oil for this sample.

BTW, car runs fine. You wouldn't even know there's a potential problem.

Yes I noticed it's 15 parts per million, and no I didn't know what that meant with regards to how long I have or how much of a problem it was/is...hence the reason for this thread

I think it was regarding potentially flogging the car and putting more stress on the engine/bearings.
