Do a boost leak test bro. More than likely you popped off a vacuum line where you cant see it, or maybe multiple vacuum lines. Try that and then get back to us.

Sounds like the car went into some sort of limp mode. My roommate's suby did the SAME things (cable throttle too, not throttle by wire) when his Idle Air Controller died. The car kept revving itself to keep itself running. I would check your idle air controller, it may have crapped out.

Like you said if it is a vacuum leak it will just run high and lean.

Also worth mentioning: We had just swapped the motor on my roommates car. It had been sitting for a month and there was some crap in the IC causing it to get into the IAC and it bound up (very bad design). So since you also had some major work done it might have gotten some crap in the IAC. But like yours, his car drove fine for about a mile then it started acting up.

Ok so last night I was checking out my car and found out what the problem was...dumb magnus intake manifold.

I don't think this is the first time Magnus manifolds have popped at the weld either... can't recall an exact case though.

thats ridiculous. I guess no one should buy Magnus manifolds anymore in fear of exploding there engine when this happens
