Mod with only a 3" TBE and Intake

Will I see a real difference by just installing a 3" TBE and intake without increading boost ant threfore dont do any tuning? If boost is not increased there is no need for tuning right? I just want a lil more power but with the stock reliability.

Yes you will see a difference... your car will run like ****! Because of the intake, your MAF will crap all over your car's driveability. It NEEDS a tune if you put a open element filter on there. As far as the exhaust, you can put that on with no problem. Qucker spool up will be your reward.

Yes you will se a noticeable difference in power and spool up way quicker. From the factory the Ecu is tuned to be very rich. A simple Ecu tune will get you 30hp easy and with your mods you would get 45-50hp over stock. Think about buying a tactrix cable and log your Ecu and then mail off the Ecu to a tuner so that they can flash it for you. You will still have relaibility, trust me when you start modding the car it become addictive.

The turbo is going to breath easier with less back pressure, making the engine flow more overall... You need a retune.

You can run around with an open filter for awhile, but I'd suggest getting a tune as soon as you can. Not only is it better for the car, the car will feel MUCH better and smoother.

I had an open filter and TBE on my car for about a month before I got it tuned, it was fine. I didn't have a full intake though, just a cone filter.

So if you don't get a tune, it's not like your car is going to explode within 3 days, but it's REALLY worth it

a tune won't sacrifice reliability if it is done correctly

You would see more of a difference if you did just a tune without any mods than you would with adding a TBE and intake. Add the parts then tune for sure!

Mine drove exactly the opposite of what your describing. It drove great, no problems at all. Huge difference too, but then again, after a tune there was another huge difference.

i dont know ,,, but if you want to keep it stock just keep it stock,,, if your gona mod then mod.......

if you are doing exhaust i would tune you will be spooling the turbo a couple hundred rpm's sooner that will cause i assume som confussion with your ecu,, when i first started moding i did the same as you TBE and filter except i also did a tune and thats where the power was the tune combinned with the TBE and the element filter whoaaa the car picked up nice power... and so much smoother with the tune

it will run a little leaner which is good since the factory runs it a little on the rich side anyways
