Okay, I re-read the whole post & am ready to pull the trigger on this upgrade. My car pushes wide powering during mid & exit--especially on later runs when the tires are getting too hot.
My car's turn-in is very good, relatively speaking.

Not sure if 1 or 1.5 is what I need. The car is incredibly stable in heavy transitions & my style is very aggressive--and I don't want to lose that stability--or I may crash Sounds like they both act the same under power, but the 1.5 will start the rotation when/if the throttle is dropped.

I had 2 STis & always left the diff in auto--I liked the slight rear bias when powering out, as it rotated nicely & predictably while I rang it's neck.

What ratio have you cone guys gone with & are you happy w/ the car now?

Thx,

George B.

No George, you're fast enough. Don't bother with this - you don't need it

HAH! I need to get my nearly-stock suspension/driveline setup comparable to some of you well-prepped guys.

It's been fun slowly developing the car into quite a weapon

Hey George

I spoke with Jon @ TRE about this, what your trying to cure (pushing wide mid to exit) is exactly what is reduced with his diff, sometimes a little correction will be required on exit . Also what I gather from our conversation is that the 1.5 holds the "lock" on deceleration (1 way does not), but not as aggressive as the 2.0 (which would be like what a drifter would need).

For autox he recommended the 1 way, which may help to keep the stability.

Hope that helps
Duncan

PS I thought loose was fast

Not tight & super-stable is even faster (for me)

Thx for the info Duncan. I'd be comfortable w/ the1.5s help in turn-entry rotation, but my car seems to leave everything thing else in the dust in the slaloms & offsets because I literally drive it past the limits--and somehow don't spin... I just don't want to give that rock-solid stability up.

If I tried this level of attack in my old C5 Z06 Vette (which was a bada$$ ASP car), I'd have spun immediately.

This vid shows exactly what the issue is & where this mod should help (180s & sweepers--I had to be waaay too patient)...

The course was not friendly to my car (all the 180s & no transitions), and you can hear me chopping viciously @ the pedal in the final right sweeper, as the car wanted to push wide.

My A6s are almost shot, but this was my 1st local loss (P2 by .2xx in a class of 9) in a long time...

I'm dropping the car off today to get this TRE mod started...

Oh man that was hard to watch.

The rear diff upgrade will totally change how you can attack those corners. You will be able to get into the throttle much sooner and man-handle the EVO out of the corners.

Seriously guys, you need this upgrade.

a vid of car with TRE rear diff in it... the advanced observer should be able to see how the car drifts with slight oversteer out of most turns.

Did you go 1 or 1.5? I'm still on the fence. My car has KWs as well...
