I have an '03 Evo, so adjusting ACD is not an option for me, but ... with stock open front diff, stock suspension, the TRE rear diff completely eliminated any corner exit push. My only other suspension mods the last time I tracked the car were a rear trailing arm bushing and WL rear bumpsteer elimination kit. So, to recap: stock advans, open front diff, stock struts, stock swaybars, stock springs, rear TA bushing, WL BEK + TRE rear diff = neutral car.

I really think that along with the aforementioned bushings, this should be at the top of everyone's suspension mod list ... even before swapping to a bigger rear sway bar.

That's what im trying to figure out. What's best for buck, rear diff or messing with the acd ecu. advantages of one over the other and if im still not satsified, do both.

. . . .
Exactly! Most people don't realize that getting more aggressive with the lockup of the ACD will send more forces to the rear end. This will cause more stress, more heat, and quicker wear at the rear diff than with the stock ACD programming.

The TRE rear diff upgrade strengthens the rear diff assembly substantially - as well as giving longer life and improving heat capacity.

The upgrade process should be as follows for an EVO with an open front diff : Front diff > Rear diff > Center diff

The upgrade process should be as follows for an EVO with a stock front LSD : Rear diff > Center diff > Front diff

when you're exiting a corner with this mod and it starts oversteering do you have to countersteer or hold the steering wheel straight?

THat will vary from corner to corner. It also depends on how much throttle you are applying. More throttle = more opposite lock (countersteer).

Mine is still going strong after 2 years. I love the fact that when you make a sharp 1st-gear turn at slow speed (not under load), you hear the rear diff go click-click-click as the clutch plates slide over each other. Let's you know it's still working!

Thanks, Jon, and Merry Xmas!

Gotta love the clicking noises. People look at me like my car is about to break when I am in a parking lot.
