the reason i ask is because all the other pics i see of evo 8/9 t cases the hole what the axle goes in are both female. on the pics here 1 side is male and one side is female.
so am i missing something??

yes it is ACD. the male output shaft is because no one removed it. you need a slide hammer, thread it into the output shaft and pop it out.

LSD you need to take it apart to tell, but i believe that ACD cars have LSD in the front too... not for sure though. someone else might be able to chime in so you don't need to take it apart.

well from my past problems with t-cases i can tell you that it looks like its from an evo 8 but probably an 05 with acd. the dif however in those pics is oem. acd cars do have helicals fron the factory(lsd). whether or not the dif is grinding, or the gear is snapped youd have to open it to tell that. umm and yea kevins right the output shaft just hasnt been slide hammered out. super easy to take out if you want to use your oem shaft. when you pull it out it will act kinda suctioned in and then come right out, be careful though puttin one back in. and id would DEF pull the tcase apart and check it out or have someone check it out before you waste the time reinstalling it.
