Thanks for your support !
The engine is completed
I sent the turbo manifold and turbine housing out to be coated and the turbo is being rebuilt
I started yesterday working on the chassis
I reamain undecided on how far to take the weight reduction and chassis prep
I saw Dan Bejalis 's evo at the shotout it was very much a drag car like some Honda civic gutted to the max
Its one thing to do that to a $1500 Honda Civic its another thing to mutilate a Evo which at this juncture is still a full bodied street car - I remain undecided on what path to take - we'll see how it goes

I agree the car is very nicely done for sure - someone spent a lot of time crafting it
I did not say his car was "mutilated"
I questioned if I wanted to "mutilate" my car
My dliema is if plastic doors - lexan windows and a gutted car is the right path for me
For sure a stripped car will be the fastest car - but everyone who is making a car like this has to choose the direction and goal that they are comfortable with

My advice Al is if you go anything less than a street class car you might as well go all the way.. There is no more respect given to a car with no interior that still has glass for example.. Go all or nothing!! its one thing to pull a/c and lighten this or that but if you have no interior its then called a race car..
There are a lot of plastic door and window cars with tube front ends - none of them can run in any of the race classes I have traditionally run in - of course the NHRA is now dead and many drag racing events are ending - like the WRX vs EVO races etc
I signed up for the Hot Rod Drag Week which requires stock body this year and was going to try and make the drag events and do 1,000 miles before I greanaded the engine and trans
In the end of the day
If I gut the car down to 2400 - 2500 lbs and go high 8's - what is the big deal ? What difference will it make?
I was very happy with the car weighing just under 3,000 last year running 9.5
I am trying to decide what I am going to do with the car and build something I can use
I may even just sell the Evo and try building a Evo X
Who knows
In the meantime, I am having fun getting my hands dirty and turning some wrenches
I have to get it all done by the time my Subaru block comes back from Darton at the end of the month

Also - buying and hanging the Seibon doors and lexan side windows is a step that is reversable and something I could potentially sell to someone else in the end
At this point most of the weight left in my car is in the door and steering collum
Also - I am still running a very heavy ATL fuel cell and full exhaust

Just wanting to know what the deal is with making his posts hard on the eyes and mobile devices having to scroll so damn much to read anything useful
Meanwhile
I will continue to watch this build in hopes that...
It does better this year than
last year's times
Good luck!!

Well you have the STI to run on the track and street so why not gut as much as you can out of the Evo and see how fast you can go. Unless you think you might eventually make the car more street friendly go ***** out and see what you can do.
