Every single photo is the TB bolted onto the Intake manifold and that lip you are speaking of is the inlet of the intake manifold and not part of the TB at all. You do indeed need to look closer.

This is why I said he's talking about the intake manifold. I think that statement in his pictures post clearly states what he's talking about. Can't be much clearer.

I would definately match the two. Any sort f restriction is going to cost some power. Now, how much power, is another story. It wouldn't hurt to do it, especially because it will take all of about an hour with the right tools. (When you do it, you really should take out the butterfly at least, and the throttle shaft as well. You really don't want to run the risk of knicking the surface where the butterfly closes, and getting blow by air past it.

On a second note, it is good to see Bushur does the 65mm TB's the right way. A friend of mine has a Works 65mm TB, and when i took out the butterfly and shaft, I measured the diameter of the "65mm" butterfly, and needless to say I was very dissapointed in what I saw. Just by looking at the picture, I can tell Buschur's TB is bigger than the Works 65mm.

FYI, the "65mm" Works TB didn't come anywhere even close to 65mm in diameter. Disappointing.

Props to Buschur.

After removing my bifocals I noticed that the lip is actually the IM inlet. I apologize for my previous confusion.

It definitely looks like the IM needs to be port-matched to the TB.
