QM is an awesome drag racing clutch hands down..
But
-Depending on how many times you launch it and how you drive it.. It doesn't last long.. Mine lasted about 15K with about 25 Lauches on it.
-Not a fun street clutch at all. Very harsh engagement..

This is the same with the Tilton..

Did you have the 7.25 V-drive too?

I still have it. I'm looking for a daily driver clutch that can handle the 30R.. The 7.25 V is what they are useing... unless they have gone bigger.. They do need to go to a 8.5.. That should help them last longer..

The funny part is that they last a whole lot longer in DSMs.. Gear size and drive line may have something to do with the wear patern.

You MUST go AEM for 9k+. The stock ECU can't rev past 8500 from what I'm told.

Head work... No sense in trying to pump all that air through a soda straw.

Are Brian Crowers spring and retainers any good to match with Jun 272's?

OuchhHH!!!
What do you suggest? I was watching the video of Mellon's HTA35R>>>https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=313778
I don't think I will be satisfied with just revving 8K rpm

I really dont see a reason to rev that high with that turbo. David sells the Dual supertech which would work for what you want to do. Just make sure your install height is set right

would you recommend installing the spring and retainers without taking the head off?

I would say 450 and up whp will break axles on a stick track with a hard launch. We were braking them with the bfg drags and slicks easy

Yeah, the Tilton clutch is NOT streetable at all. If your car is going to be a dedicated race car, then it's fine, but if this car is going to double as your ride to work then I would recommend a milder clutch. IMO, you can do an Exedy/Fidanza combo. Affordable, able to hold power, and shifts pretty close to stock.
