It seems like he removed a lot of material, so couldn't this now cause more turbulence from the compressor to the intercooler and actually slow the air down?

How much better would this better vs a really good polishing?
Most people run 2.5" IC piping, the outlet of the turbo is only ported to 2.125".

in my opinion porting to a compressor housing is not going to add a influx of turbulance, no matter how big. It would, or could, hurt velocity. Like blowing through a straw, the bigger we go, it does not get bumpy at the end, just weak. But it's(the turbo) compressed and under pressure. Much like a cylinder head we don't want to open it as far as it could possibly be opened, we do a reasonable amount and keep it simple. Certainly not enough to ruin it. I assure, this is not our first rodeo.

warp9's comment has taken center stage, and I feel the need to address it. Geoff from FR and I are friends and we actually talked the night we did this. I will stop short of saying he condoned this..he did not. But, if he were to have told me that I would ruin it by doing it, we wouldn't have. He is one of the most intelligent friends I have, and forgotten more then I know about turbo's. I won't speak for him, he may chim in if he wishes. If anyone would know, they would(FR), I agree! But they (he)was consulted before work was performed. We do not know how much gain, if any could be seen by doing this...Ran just got a early christmas present and shared it

SO, what could be the downside of porting too much?
Besides compromising the integrity?
