But what doesn't make sense is that sometimes the car will run strong the entire way to red line and then I make a u-turn and do the same thing and it goes crazy.
Just FYI, I know lowes (I am sure most hardware stores do) sells a preformed silicone endcap. It looks like yours does only you do not need the white piece as it is preformed. You just drill a hole and insert a tire valve. Works really well.
