Hesitation at 4500 rpm
I have an AVC-R, HKS blow-off valve, an Apexi Rev/Speed meter, Apexi power intake and HKS Power muffler. The engine idles fine and runs ok when you drive it relatively hard but when I drive it really hard I get an engine hesitation at around 4500rpm in all gears. I seems like a fuel cut but am not sure. But if i don't press it too hard it goes all the way up to around 7500rpm with nno probs. Its just when I stand on it that I get the hesitation. I've checked for leaks and don't seem to find any. I still have the stock ECU - can this ECU take the mods? Should I look at getting an ECU upgrade? What about a Greddy emanage? Do I need an uprated fuel pump? Injectors? Thanks in advance. I was hitting fuel cut only in 4th and 5th gear at 4500 rpm.
I was boosting 1.5bar possibly a tad bid more. Maybe 1.55bar.
The engine would almost turn itself off for a second, then keep revving past 4500 on up to redline. I turned the boost down and now its fine... It was detonation or anything, because after the boost was turned down, it went away. The only thing I can think of....
BTW - I am running the Xede and I WAS running Shiv's boost line.

i think everyone's trying to answer boostedwrx and my query at the same time. my boost is at 0.9 bar and timzcat my plugs look ok no apparent signs of leaning out and the hesitation is mild. i was figuring the ecu might be (at 4500rpm) trying to compensate for the increased airflow from the apexi power intake but stumbles at around that rpm range but catches up a second later, sometimes half a second. i kinda lift off a fraction and step on it again to get it through the rev range but as soon as it gets past that 4500 range its like a rocket to 7500rpm....... i used to get cut offs at the 6800rpm range but that was a wrong rev/sped meter setting issue so that's gone now.
