Can't believe this:HELP1
After having my Evo at my dealership for damn near a month for tranny, clutch, and preasure plate bearing replacment, i finally get my car back and as im driving home, (about 10 minutes ago) i notice that my clutch feels a little "loose", like it has a lot of play. So i know that something isn't right. then after about 5 miles down the road, my clutch is stuck all the way out and i can't push it in at all nor can i go into an gear. Now what the F*ck is going on with my car. My Evo is sitting on the side of the road broken down right now and i am waiting for the tow truck to haul it back to . Can someone maybe explain what the hell is going on?

Yeah, my suggestion would be to take it to a different Mitsubishi dealership this time. No, that's not sarcasm.

You could try your luck and tell them you are sick of all the BS and want a different (new) car. If they had it for that long, Mitsu may step up and give them the nod. They will just fix it and sell it used.
How many times has it been in now for the same thing? All dealers know what the Lemon Law is and don't want to get involved in it.

damn dude...... call mmusa and tell them your *** is sore from getting reamed... just make sure they document the sequence of events.
That really sucks man. I'm sure they rushed through the re-assembly to "get the car out of there". You probably have a good case for the lemon law at this point, and one of the lemon law options is vehicle replacement.
Maybee you could post up the name of the dealer so others will know to stay away at least.

Check out the lemon law for Michigan here: http://www.lemonlaw.bbb.org/
In Michigan you're entitled to either having Mitsubishi repurchase the car or give you a new one if it's been out of service for repair for a total of 30 days. Check out that site though cause there is a process you have to go through. Need to send Mitsubishi a letter stating the problem after it's been in for a total of 25 days or more. Then they have 5 working days to repair the car before you're entitled to the lemon law.

Well if they covered it under warranty the first time then I don't see much chance of them being able to claim abuse since it sounds like this happened on the way home from picking up the car. That's obviously some manufacturer/repair defect. If it really had been there for almost a month then I'd get started on the the lemon law now.

Yhea, lemon law is nice, but Mitsu has the ability to sit on any decision making for a loooooooooooong time.
My buddy's Eclipse was bought-back under the lemon law, but it took Mitsu over 3 months to finally cut a check and pick up the car.
If you're still low milage, you should be able to invoke lemon law. It's you're best bet. Note that the dealer won't be able to help you with the lemon, you'll need to contact corporate for that. That's probably why it takes so damn long.
Regardless, I hope this gets resolved quickly. Keep up posted.

When I had to get the clutch replaced on my car I saw how it works. The pressure plate works in reverse from normal cars, when you pushe the clutch down it pulls the pressure plate away from the clutch disc.
So if something is not working correctly your clutch should be stuck in the up position.
On the end of the throw out bearing there is a special ring that enables you to pull the pressure plate away from the clutch disc. If that ring becomes dislodged or if the throw out bearing is not fitted to the fork correctly this could cause the exact problem you are having.
When I replaced my clutch we accidentally dislodged the ring that attaches to the throw out bearing. Luckily we caught it before but the transmission was all the way in. This can also happen if the clutch disc wasn't aligned properly before installing the transmission.
Forgive me for saying this but it sounds like the mechanics at your dealer don't know what they're doing. But at least you had the work done under warranty. I had to pay out-of-pocket to have my clutch replaced at 2600 miles noless.
Good luck.

yea, they said that there was air pockets in the hyrdalic clutch or something? Now the f%cker is grinding into 3rd gear they say. One thing after another. And if not one thing than multiple things. I am filing for lemom law tomarrow. My car has been out of service for a tottal of 40 business days. I have had 3rd and 5th gear replaced before. Than my tranny blew a seal and leaked fluid on my clutch flywheel and presure plate and also seized up my tranny. Then i had a new tranny relaced which had air pockets in the fluid im guessing which caused the clutch not to ingage and finally i have my brand new tranny already grinding into 3rd. Piece of ****? I'd say so!
