my buddy has been having a few problems with his 05 evo 8. he said that ever since he installed his Bushur catback he's been having weird problem that only happens in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. when he accelerates his rpms jump from 3k to 4k as if his clutch was slipping. after 4k his car accelerates fine. this doesnt happen in 1st or 2nd and he says his clutch engages fine. some people suggested that he was getting a spike, but we installed his dejon tool mbc and the problem is still occurring. also, he accelerated to 4-5k in 3rd gear and he put his car in neutral and pressed his brakes, but his engine was still revving at 4k for a couple seconds before finally decreasing. we also installed his stewart warner boost gauge and we're also not sure if it's giving an accurate reading. i'm not sure what the stock vacuum should read, but it reads around 15 in/hg. we turned the mbc all the way down and his gauge reads 10 psi (we can hear a slight his coming from the back of the gauge once it reads the boost). we turned the boost up and the gauge read 23 psi. then we turned the boost down slightly, but the gauge read 10 psi again. what do you guys think is going on?

so is this the reason the car jumps from 3k to 4k when he's accelerating?
