IX 100whp tune plugs?

I am having my IX tuned tomorrow, expecting to get +100whp from stcok. All normal bolt ons for stock turbo, no Cams and no meth.
The question is, I have new stock NGK IX plugs and NGK 1 step colder plugs (NGK R7437-8) sitting in my garage.

What ones should I put in the car for these bolt ons and tune.
What should I gap them at?

Thanks!!!!

I just called the tuned and he said to start with a .30 gap on the 1 step colder plugs. Does anyone have experience with using the colder plugs and gapping them?

.028 is what AMS gaps all there plugs to. Also 1 step colder is what I run especially if your running more boost then stock. Your good to go my friend!

I would keep the stock plugs gapped at the stock setting. No need to upgrade.

Even guys running high boost 20Gs keep the stock plugs.

I personally run the Denso Irradiums 1 step colder and there was no need to gap. I've heard it's good to run the one step colder if you run mostly race gas or alky/meth. I run nothing but 100oct in my car personally

Just wondering why the tuner is telling me to get the colder plugs then? I know on my drag truck I used the colder plugs to assist with the timing. I am assuming he wants them in my car for the same reason? Since I have them both new waiting to go in I am assuming the colder ones would work better with a .028 gap, but I have also read where the stock IX plugs come colder than the stock 8 plugs. Anyone with IX experience with colder plugs and a reason why?

Like I said, I've read around here that if you run a lot of race gas and or meth then it's good to go one step colder. Otherwise you'll be fine with just the normal plugs.

So if you have a bolt on IX with cams and only plan on using race gas a few times a year at the track... stick with the stock plugs?

Right, the census on here is to keep the stock plugs, which I would prefer, but my gut says if the guy tuning my car asks for the colder plugs give them to him!
How about this scenario. I put the colder plugs in for the tune and if in the future it starts to run bad change them to the stockers. Would I need a retune for this? Also, a lot of people have said that I do not NEED the colder plugs, but will it hurt to use them (Except the back pocket of course).
