I've had the HKS Racing BOV on my STI and man that thing was hardcore, I'd prob say that's for people with serious setups, the SSQV should be ample for most applications.

The SSQV is not junk. It get's a bad rep on here because 99% of the time people ask about it because of how it sounds. It is a very good product that has proven to work good on many diffrent vehicles, but it is also expensive and can be a little tricky to install. Some of the mounting flanges made to work with the SSQVs have the grove for the 0-ring cut too deep and will not seal. You have to get a thicker o-ring then what the SSQV comes with, or you can get creative. I epoxied mine into the flange and pressure tested it. You're going to need to get a recirculation fitting for it as well if you are using the MAF. There are other valves out there that work just as good, are less of a pain and won't hit your wallet as hard. However, if you really want an SSQV, it will work just fine. I personally would have gotten a forge, but I had an SSQV already from my other car.

NOTE" that all the people saying its not junk have less then 50 posts, you guys should do some research, I'm sure its not junk, but they have better for cheaper, if you must have the hks ssqv over another better brand then get the recirculating kit with it.

And make sure it has adjustable spring pressure or else compressor surge is going to be a killer in the long run.

I ran the HKS valve on my 2nd gen and my evo, it is junk. I am much happier with my Tial, especially at 30 psi

tial probably the best bet if you want a pull type, and i think they just came out with a recirculating one now too.

The only pull type BOV's i know of are the HKS and the Synapse..... TIAL is NOT a pull type...

The HKS is NOT a bad BOV, as people on here have said, set up correctly it works well! people that say it is 'junk' really have NFI if you ask me. It is expensive but that aside it is a good BOV, FULL STOP.

This thread should be locked & deleted like the other million's asking the same questions over and over, Its not a good option for a stock ecu evo no matter what you say or do. I have a buddy with one and he took his off after putting my stock bov on his car and he's much happier with the IX metal DV.

I think as long as you can recirc it there should be no stalling problems? Can you recirc the verion 2 with the version 1 parts?
