Switched to Royal Purple 10w30 today

Well, my EVO hit 18K miles and I just did an oil change.....
put in 5 qts. of 10w30 Royal purple, a new OEM filter, a SARD magnetic drain plug and washer.

Once complete I started up the car and noticed the motor idling much more smoother and quieter.....

yea that might be a bit too much. I always put in 4.5 qts or abouts. an extra .5qt will probably just burn away.

Blue Evo is right...5 quarts is right. oil cooler all your lines and oil pan, it might be like 4.9 or so. so call it 5

I usually do a little less than 5qts. I put the oil under the full line of the dip stick.

i used to RP for 2 oil changes (around 5000 miles) and i noticed alot more lifter noise than usual. i realize they are loud to begin with, but they seemed quieter with the mobile1 and after i switched back to the mobile1 the noise was not nearly as loud. im not knocking RP they do make very high quality oils, but ive heard alot of up's and down's about RP. to each his own
