i remembered where i read about wear.

*Clutch line restrictor removal option located below
Increases clutch lifespan in day to day driving and will engage the clutch faster.
(1.71 60ft times capable on TTP shop car w/ stock clutch)

*Drag launches WILL wear out your clutch faster, however.

I removed mines when I had my stock clutch, and it banged the gears better and the clutch felt a lot better to me. Then again, with all the launches and races I did without letting the clutch cool off, I finished my stocker at 2,500 miles Now I have an Exedy Twin HD, with the SS line and the pill is still off. It bangs harder then all hell!! But to answer the OP question, I would remove it.

I don't think hard shifting wears the clutch out as fast as slipping the clutch at launch. You see most people clutches go right after they launch the car...

1.71 60ft can be done with the restrictor pill in the car. I did that on my EVO when it had a little over 100 miles.

It would be good to see if people did better with the pill out. I would assume most of the people who do drag blew the stock clutch and thus have an aftermarket clutch with the pill removed. We may never know....

From what I hear from Procco's Driver, he took it off and it gave him a 1.6 60FT using the stock clutch, but then again, he's a bad *** driver.

What kind of effect does this have on the drive line?

I honestly can't answer that. But what I can tell you is my car has no issue's with it's tranny, tc or drive shaft thus far. The car is completely apart and there's no signs of bad wear. I really would like to open my tranny and TC to see just how much damage, if any at all, have been caused. But I know a lot of people with over 50,000 miles on their EVO and they had the pill removed for years now without any problems.

But once again, I am no expert... I just state what I see and observe.

This is good to know because from what i DID find on the forum people were claiming this could cause transmission and TC problems. Which i am sure in time it could but people run this frequently enough where i dont see this as a huge issue.

mitso put it in to save the tranny and driveline!
rather trash a clutch then a TC and box.

but many people have it removed without ill effect!
if anything i think it will make the clutch last longer as it does not cause it to slip!

DO IT!!!

+1 and +1 and +1 to all the reasons given here. Positive clutch engagement, solid shifting improvement, etc. DO IT!

NOTE: this is NOT an excuse to 'be able to' launch more on the stock clutch. It will wear out just as quickly when doing that!

If you really like to the drive the car and want it to do what you tell it to then remove the restrictor. All it does is slip the clutch for you for smoother engagement...screw that, I know how to drive my car and the Evo driveline is tough enough to handle it.
