is it hard to port int./exh. manifolds yourself?? what do you need to do so?? thanks.

Exhaust manifold is tough as it is cast iron. Need some pretty tough industrial tools to get that done. Intake manifold is aluminum so I just used a carbide coated metal filer to saw away at the surface.

I use a cutting bit to gasket match and then little sand paper wraps that have a long metal attachment to do down inside the runners. Its pretty darn time consuming.

That is your problem. You were using a bit that is too much for such a soft metal. In the pics you can see that it had a flat end and dug into the metal a lot. It also creates jagged spots. The intake manifold is really soft and not much to remove so sand paper roll bits too the job perfect.
