Having a misfire issue between shifts, will HKS DLI fix this?

I have been having an issue with shifting super fast from 1st-2nd-3rd, the car will misfire betwen the shift and shoot some massive popping from the exhaust. Sucks pretty bad.

Now if I start out in 2nd gear, hit it and shift to 3rd super fast, or to 4th super fast, I get no misfire. Its perfect. Its only when I go 1st-2nd-3rd it will pop each time real bad & even bog the car down for a split second.

Whats the deal? Ive changed the plugs, gapped properly, everything. I was gapped at .23 i believe, and now im at .26 with no change. NGK BPR7ES plugs.

Will the HKS DLI2 fix this issue? Thanks.

don't shift so fast fool!

lol, seriously, larger gap won't help a missfire mine are gapped at .19 i need a COP though.

I never get any fireballs or poping from blowing the spark out. When mine does it it does it real bad.

If it is indeed a misfire, HKS is the best thing for it next to a ebay COP

Btw, I never had an issue until I got the cams (I think it was the cams anyway.) Reguardless, this issue just began a couple months ago. It hasnt always done this.

Your stock ignition is really not enough for that turbo anyways. It will definitely take the problem away. The RPMs climbe too fast when powershifting once you let off.

Well, it was doing it on the stock turbo too about a month, month and a half before I switched over to the 3065.

PS. I am not powershifting either, I am just trying to shift REAL fast and it just bogs, pops, then goes.

Wow man, you really should not be running 7 plugs anyway. You need to be at least one step colder, so BPR8ES.

Gap them down to about .020 and things should be ok. If you plan on upping the boost much your going to need some sort of ignition upgrade. The DLI will do but its so damn expensive.

I'm personally running a coil pack and ignitor from a 1g DSM, have about 60 bux in the whole shebang. It works great to about 650whp or so...Gapped at .020

When the last time you changed plugs? I'm changing plugs every 3,000 miles around here or the same problem. I wonder if its a coincidence we both use the same gas station...

Well, I had atleast 6,000 miles on the old plugs, and after putting in the new plugs, the same problem was still there. I have probably 750 miles on the new plugs.

I don't think it's ignition, my guess is it's valve float. What cams/springs/retainers do you have.
