Ask AMS and Buschur Part 1: 2.0l or 2.3l?
Would be interesting to have a series of technical questions asked of the two most popular engine builders on the forum. Maybe Buschur and AMS would want to participate? Here is the first question:
When a customer asks about a motor build, how do you help them decide whether the stroker or 2 litre is the better option for them?

2.3 makes a sweet road course motor and the 2.0 makes a great drag racing motor because it revs higher then the 2.3 which in turn will be more usable for GT40R and up turbo wise if you plan to go that big.

Dave has said before that the 2.0l is better in his opintion. He says cause it will always make more power than a 2.3 due to it ability to rev much higher.
Dave I aint putting words in your mouth... just stating what you have said in your past posts about this
AMS... I dunno what they recommend, if I had to guess, I would have to say the same.

Hope we can hear the two shops chime in.
I think AMS might have a different viewpoint because I think I see a higher ratio of 2.3's from AMS customers but who knows.

i am not an engine builder nor a mechanic...however i am an engineer...
to put it in easy terms..going 2.2 will give you faster spool, and higher rev limit than the 2.3 yet maintain better (closer to 2.0) geometry...and the piston speeds at higher rpm are not rediculous like the 2.3
