Tried to search. SUPER response
Hi, It's the time of life when you know you need some more power, so here we go...
I've doing my homework to decide upon a definitive spec for my new engine, and that's already done, but I've come to serious doubts when it comes to turbo choice. I'm building a 2.3 at the moment, and I'd like an end result of some 500-550whp on pump (we run 98 octane pump over here) BUT, with a really "good" response, so something spooling at, say, 4500 is not a choice. I don't drag my car, as it only sees closed track driving and 4 wheel drifts on a special track over here. Oh, and the weekend top-speed run too!
What would you recommend? It has to be something that moves the car at 3500 aprox, to keep the thing moving on tight hairpins.
I've tried to search, but I'm sure that's not a spec you use much around there...

well, first of all, its going to be hard for you to achieve 500-550 on pump gas regardless if your on a 2.3 or 2.4 fully built head, on pump gas there are alot of restrictions, but as for race gas, u should be at 600 + on the right set up.... look into the " HTA 35 R" its one of the baddest turbos out right now.... good luck

Yeah, I'd agree on the HTA 35R as being the top choice. I think that 98 octane(R.O.N.) pump is equivalent to our U.S. 93 octane(Research+Motor/2) pumpgas. With judicious cam choice and lean spool tuning you should be able to get acceptable turbo spoolup on your stroker motor. The other choice that might get you close to your power goal would be an HTA 3065. The 3076 however, will have a tough time reaching 500 WHP on pumpgas. In fact it won't even get close.
EDIT: BTW, where is Barna?
As an afterthought, there is a thread on here from an EvoM member who has an HTA 35R Twin Scroll setup. I am not sure if this particular configuration is available directly from Forced Performance, or, Full Race. I imagine that it requires a Twin Scroll turbular header. This type of setup might be worth looking into as well. You might want to give Forced Performance a call and get Robert's opinion.

Barcelona, spain.
Well, it needn't be 3500. 4000-4200 is acceptable too, what I don't want is a 2500rpm wide powerband, and I don't want to be downshifting to 1st to get a fast exit out of a corner. I've been having a look at an HTA35r, and I think that's going to be the coice... I'll let you know!
