Somewaht hypocritical for those individuals to try and claim that this product is illegal which clearly it is not
How would they be any less legal than any other gutted/mutulated civic or any car in Hot Rod or Pro-4?

Sadly the first guy we installed one in his car would not cooperate with my video fixation. I have no choice now but to wait till my car is up and runing again - about a week I think to make a full video.

Don't the Hot Rod class cars run 7's now? I don't pay much attention anymore, just asking.

David we need one of these for me when you get my car in a couple of months!

Just so I understand does V1 work like this?

1. Push button to activate unit
2. Push clutch pedal to the floor and get on 2 step/launch rpm
3. Release clutch pedal as fast as possible!
4. When clutch pedal is released unit will control the clutch release rate
5. Shift like normal and finish run
6. If adjustments are needed make them by manually turning knob in engine bay

I am really excited about this product and you will see me running it this season for sure. I put about 140 passes on my car last season and ended up breaking 2 transfer cases ha. I am killer at the tree and sometimes bomb the hell out of the clutch pedal to get that good light.

<< Me needs one!

Thanks for a great product everyone involved!!!!!

I think its great that people are trying new things and making innovated products.
But i think this product takes the skill and fun out of racing or launching our cars. But im sure that this will help save us from parts breaking..
To me this product would be like having someone else to launch my car and letting me handle the rest. I know i built my car for me to launch and drive. And if people can't get it down maybe they should move onto something else.
I can't launch my car for **** yet. But with practice i would like to think i can become good at it . Its all part of racing.
Thats my opinion.

^^ There are a whole host of assists that are invented and used by racers trying to get more consistency or a better way to improve their times. This looks like another good idea. Some may wish to continue improving their own skills, but few will develop the feel like Trent or other top skill drivers. This is an interesting alternative for people looking to get ahead of the curve. Given my short experiences last summer, I can see the value in getting a better option than my left foot I look forward to seeing it in final form and getting some testing.

If it saves Al transmissions, engines, or transfer cases, who could be a better spokesman?

Looks similar in parts and the description of the function?

Actually the unit pictured is not the same. A bike shifts at WOT after it launches so the switch works only once at launch on that controller. For our cars if you used that exact same set up and lifted to shift, each time you shifted the car the clutch would slip the same amount it did on launch. So your input is.....worthless, so is the little face with the eyes rolling.

evilRS, the problem I think most guys who are making comments about the driver being taken out of the equation is they aren't driving fast cars. I don't know how fast your car is but I know the majority of the guys on these forums run 11's. Running an 11 second EVO is not that difficult, I can manage that. Running 10's gets much more difficult and as rediculous as it sounds to this date I have never gone 10's in an AWD. Running 9's, forget it, for most it is absolutely impossible. You are not taking the driver out of the equation, you are aiding him in being more consistent and being able to concentrate on cutting a light to actually win some heads up races.

As a side note, I've gone as fast as 7.5's in a 1485 HP twin turbo Buick Grand National, won a LOT of races in that car. Also went as fast as 7.8 in my old tube chassis Talon, won a LOT of races in that car too. Both cars were automatic transmissions with trans brakes. It was RARE for me to ever get beat on the tree. I know how important a product like this is to be good on the tree.

Dave, you are way too kind... Let someone think that is the same thing that you guys have and let them save all that $$$ by purchasing the one for the M/C because they will need that $$$ to replace their clutch in a few launches. They cannot tell that it is totally different outher then they use a similar solenoid....
Maybe it can be used to purge Nitrous as they have a solenoid that looks similar...
