drop in piston on mivec EVO 9
Hi Guys has anyone drop in pistons, rods and rod bearings on the evo 9. If so is the procedure at all different then the evo 8? I feel like I heard the way the pistons rings are placed differently, but im not sure. thanks in advance...
Also if I have 20k on my car do you think it will be fairly safe or do I require pulling the crank and balancing it?
Also do you guys think Cosworth bearings are any good for drop in?

A lot of people do the drop in upgrade (mainly on a budget). As long as your bore is good then there should be no problem at all. The MIVEC plays no part in this upgrade. The block has different oil ports to the head which houses the MIVEC intake cam gear which is the main difference between the EVO8 and EVO9.
I would recommend ACL Calico Coated bearings.
Good Luck!
