shouldn't this setup run low 12 sec or high 11 sec? b/c my friend's 03 evo ran mid 12 w/out cams.

Brad: How did the swap to the S2's affect your stock turbo's spoolup characteristics in comparison to your previous camshaft setup? Even a seat of the pants assessment would provide helpful insight, thanks!

EDIT: I read on LancerRegister that the S1's spool better than the S2's. What's your take?

bump for more information.

do the s2's require spring and retainer upgrades?

also do you have a vid of the car in motion? cruisin and WOT?;

sounds great at an idle.

From the seat of my pants the spoolup feels about the same.

The dll graph shows basically identical hp and trq curves just that they go higher and stay higher to redline.

There is a very noticeable torque punch with these cams.

Are these on par with HKS 280's specwise?

Thanks Brad! So there is a noticeable gain in midrange torque? I am considering going over to these cams from my present setup. I really want to maximize torque and spoolup. I never rev over 7200 RPM. So, I had been considering the S1's.

Yes, you will need to upgrade your springs and retainers.

There are several videos of my car racing here http://dsmvideo.vidiac.com.

I believe these are a bit more aggressive than the HKS 280's.

I am a horrible driver.

It was my first time at the track.

I was only getting 1.83 60's and my stock clutch is finally giving up on me so I had to slow shift into 4th or it would grind its a$$ off.

The new clutch will be in by the end of the month so I hope to be able to improve on that time.
