An OEM clutch uses a TOB to pull on the diaphgram to release the disc. This has shown small weaknesses where a small clip can come detached and cause the clutch to not disengage. This has to fixed by removing the transmission and replacing the clip. The push style clutch uses a different clutch cover and TOB to push on the diaphgram to release the clutch. This way there is no clip that can detach and cause failure.

If you look through numbers of threads on clutch jobs, the clip is almost always the source of screwed up installations, and requires you to go back and take the whole thing apart again.
Clips also have been reported to fail during fast shifting.
Eliminating the clip is a good thing.

This product is something AMS and Exedy helped design together.
Thanks everyone for the questions and feedback.

Whats the advantage of this over the regular twin plate? I am having you guys install a twin plate when my turbo kit I ordered from you guys comes in. I do not drag race. And only road race a couple times a year.
Thanks,
Jeff Malec
