Shep Tranny Help?

Does anyone know the difference between the stage 1 or stage 2 shep tranny b/c my friend has a stage 2 in his evo but he said that the stage 1 is the same thing so not to pay the money for the stage 2. Any help?

well they both cant be the same thing or it wouldnt be called stage 1 and stage 2.. i am not sure if the trannies come in different stages to be honest.. the tcase is in stage 2 comes with an RS diff compared to a stock open diff stage 1..

W/ your HP numbers an time slips which tranny do you have an how much was it?

There is no stage 1 and stage 2. There's just one way to go. Unless you want extra options.

when i was running 9.5's i had just the regular stage 1 tranny and stage 2 tcase.. no issues at all.. now i have all custom stuff..

well the kid told me his has double syncros in it an he has a stroker an all that stuff an he runs 10's in his an it holds up fine so i figured if i got the stage 2 w/ the rs diff i would be fine. thanks i appreciate the info.

your referring to different parts at the same time..

the double synchro tranny is one part and the RS diff is for the transfer case which is another part considered a stage2 tcase..

just get the shep trans rebuild stage 1 (whatever you wanna call it), and the stage 2 t-case rebuild and you'll be set, that's what i have and running great!

^^Did you get any of the extra options done to the trany? Looking into upgrading the trans and tcase sometime.

No extra options...just get the normal trans rebuild that shep offers, and a stage 2t-case rebuild, unless you don't want a limited slip.

Launches better and can shift very hard and no problems!
