Very very good numbers. I saw this car/setup in person tonight, and the craftsmanship is absolutely astounding. Nick and his guys do an absolutely wonderful job .

As Nick stated in his first post, its Joe's BREAK IN PERIOD. After he puts more miles on and finished with the rest of the car....that motor is going to rev out to 10.

Holy sh*t, that is absolutely absurd. Things like this make me extremely depressed. I know what my car makes on this dyno and to see what Joe is making on 19-20psi Honestly, that is awesome, I will be saving up to build my motor shortly. Congrats Joe and good work Nick, as always.

So spool up is very good, for the wheel size and spring pressure used in the gate.
I got ya, now I see the 88mm wheel! Sick, what turbo?

he said 20 psi by 5200. with a turbo that large and a 2.0 I would say that's extremely impressive.

93 and 20 psi on a mustang... are you kidding me?! These numbers and dyno curve look really good. Great work Nick. Joe you must be pumped.

we are also testing a T4 hotside TS turbo on our time attack car... in three different configurations.... and comparing it back to back with an open scroll mani and housing, should be interesting.

cheers

You can make 500 atw on a Mustang on one Walbro at stock fuel pressure? Not doubting the result just did not know a single Walbro could go so far.

Was this dyno pull done in 3rd or 4th?

When will you be testing the new Magnus?

Its a rather large turbo. Jumping from a standard 35R to this is night and day.
The TS application is being tested to see if a larger turbo will choke up top (9000 rpm) vs an open volute housing and standard 4-1 collector.

I had initially asked Joe whether or not he would mind the increased lag with this type of a turbo, and his response was YES. lol But, we also had to be realistic. With the bottom end that we built, the head work and the goal of the car, the lag is acceptable. He mostly drags the car and ill rev well into the 9000's. It will give him a great power band in TS form, vs. a slightly laggier open design.

Now keep something in mind here. He is running an 8 lb spring in the wastegate. This was to experiment with using one gate to see how well boost could be controlled. The threshold comes on MUCH sooner. With a 21 lb spring combo, this turbo will kick MUCH sooner in the rpm band. I will post results of that combination with his final numbers next week.

Thanks Eric. Wait till you see yours. I decided to go with a different design on your manifold from the start, so no prototype for you...
