bad sound after 100 in 5th gear

I have a 2003 evo VIII with almost 24,000 miles on it. the car pulls perfect all the way tell a 100 mph. Then about a 105-110ish it makes this bad sound and the car doesn't go much faster. Im affraid to go any faster because the sound kinda sounds like air fluttering but going really slow. kind of like an air compressor adjusting air susspension. but its coming from the left driver side of the engine bay. So if anyone knows what this problem could be i would appreciate it!

Do you still have the Stock AirScoop under the hood? If so, Check to see that the 2 push screws are still on it keeping it held down. Mine came off (or somebody took them off) and everytime i would get up to speed and in boost, it would suck up to the top of the hood causing it to bog and not gain anyspeed.

Maybe this isnt your case but it can be a possibility.
