Downpipe or catback?

If I need to reduce the noise, which one should be removed for less noise and minimize performance loss? Thanks.

Downpipe has minimal effect on noise.

Catback has the most noticeable effect, or cat delete.

I have RMR downpipe and catback. It sounds about 91db with RPM around 4700. Sometimes, I need to take my family for a trip and the loud is annoying.
Do you know which one will affect the performance mostly? Thank fellows.

Take off the catback. Are you running with or without a cat?
Because that would make the biggest difference in noise level. running catless is extremely loud.

the DP will make the turbo sound more pronounced...

if you wanna lose the sound, you'll have to get rid of the catback section...

I tested by doing 4700 RPM stand still in neutral with someone measuring it at the muffler pipe. I'm still retaining the catalyst.

So according to majority, the catback should be the one to remove to reduce noise with minimal impact on performance, right? I heard from some source saying that the Ralliart catback should be very quiet almost like stock, is it correct?

yeah, after you make it to fit... and it's over a $1000, i think...

why are you measuring sound levels standing still in nuetral...? it's not going to be the same when rolling and in higher gears... i thought the RMR was supposed to be pretty tame...

i know the AMS is...

Is it really that loud from inside the car when doing "normal" driving? RMR claims to be the only 50-state legal exhaust as far as noise goes. That's one of the reasons I'm considering that exhaust. It seems loud to you?
