I hope you are going to ring it out on c16 in addition to pump.

i want to see what we can do on pump first...

we have considered E85...

but this is a STOCK block car... and in my opinion, 440-460whp on our dyno isnt going to be a great longterm stock block considering these cars make 220 stock...

Faust wants to do a built 2.0... we will probably go AEM later, and run a slightly reconfigured turbo on E85... regardless....

more results this week.

edited note:

we discovered a little frothy-ness in the engine oil.... we torqued the head to standard arp specs, but this is the FIRST o-ringed head we have used, it appears the HG didnt completely seal, im going to tear it apart on wednesday and replace the gasket..... stupid mistake.

Damn, that sucks. So what was the mistake? Is this an o-ring in the head or block? Are you using a copper or MLS?

ok guys...

turns out that was the problem...

we removed the head, cleaned everything, inspected, bled lifters, flushed everything, re-oiled, ran the car for 5 mins at a time, with 4 oil changes... them amsoil went in..

car now is impressive...

stock block..

29.3 psi, we hit 434whp/342wtq with NO knock.....

the turbo is mega.... this car impresses me...

we are maxing out the 780 PTE injectors on pump 93.... so i think that says the numbers are good..... im going to throw 880s in next week, make some timing and fueling tweaks, run 31psi, and make 450-460whp....

this is a 55 lbs min compressor with a stage 3 turbine... the turbo started life as a basic stage 3 50 trim... .63 hotside... now has a larger comp wheel same cover...

with the 6 speed (and now a 20psi WG spring) we are seeing full boost at 4400rpm in 3rd... and by 4100 rpm in 4th...

18psi comes by 3750 in 4th which is impressive...

this car has alot of "top end" mods... such as Jun cams and the hypertune intake mani with 3" tbody... i think with a milder cam and stock manifold we would actually see peak boost sooner... but the shape of the curve is awesome...

more to come... here are some charts..

cheers

here is 4th gear, scaled out so you can see it nicely

and i made some notes...

and here is an HTA vs this turbo... now keep in mind this isnt apples to apples.. both are ix's... one has a stock head with springs and retainers.... this car has a BR head... the hta car has m3 cams... this has juns.. and the other is on a STOCK intake manifold...

but just a comparo..

but whats interesting is, this a 3rd gear pull on the 6 speed, and a 3rd gear pull on the 5speed HTA car...

this one is scaled with HP (same scaling as torque) on the left, and boost on the right, so you can see the spoolup.. black like and black dotted are spool

let me know your thoughts...

i am digging this combo.

for stock ecu, stock block numbers on our dyno im happy..

the stock ecu pump record on our dyno is our own 2.3 (old configuration)

which was 499.7/420ish at 30 psi on a gt37... so for this to make 50/70 less im impressed on a compressor wheel thats about 18 lbs/less

Looks outstanding Chad! This is obviously a killer option in the "mid-sized" turbo category Just let me know when you need more kits built around it, as this beast is sure to be popular!

The last chart compares it to the HTA 30R. Isn't that like a 52 lb turbo? The recently tested HTA 3076 is 57 lbs. Wouldn't that be a better comparison?
edit: I'm assuming that it's not the 3076hta in the comparison, I could be wrong, but stats listed on the FP site show different numbers. I'll check the psi that DB used. The NON hta was 52lbs, pre-hta. Sorry about that. Still looking for psi on previous test.
Found it, quote:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=332881

"Just found the graphs at 22 psi and 31.5 psi for the HTA3076:
The first few runs were done at only 22 psi to see what kind of power it would make at low boost levels. This is exceptional power from a "smaller" turbo at 22 psi. 484 whp and 370 ft lbs is more than I could possibly make at this boost level from a stock turbo or green.

I then flipped the switch on the dual stage controller to bring the boost up to 31.50 psi. "

The power went up to 504 whp and 462 ft lbs. The power curve is better with this HTA3076 turbo than the 3065, which is a very popular turbo.

EDITED AGAIN: Just found the post showing DB's was made on C16, NOT pump 93. That means that power difference is mostly in timing and AFR, since the boost is reasonably close on high boost run.

Nice build guys!
Hypertune Manifold is sexy!

Also, kudos to how well you keep up your shop. I am always impressed with the pics that I see and how clean and well organized everything always is. That speaks volumes IMO.
