Is my idea in the right place? MAF Translator
Current Setup:
Evo 9
Full Race t3 Manifold
3" Downpipe
Garrett GT3037r (.63 a/r)
Custom Lower 2.5 intercooler pipe
Stock plugs
Stock Intercooler
Stock 2.5" Maf with stock airbox
Stock Upper Intercooler pipe
Just Ordered:
ETS 4" Intercooler
ETS 2.5" Upper Intercooler pipe (short route)
ETS 4" Intake Pipe with K&N Filter
Tial BOV (open atmosphere)
MAF Translator (setting up in blowthrough setup)
GM 3" MAF (goes in between Upper Intercooler pipe)
My initial thoughts on the MAF setup: It should take the restriction out of the intake side of the turbo. I am hoping for better spool. Anyone have any thoughts on this? ECUFLASH + MAF transalator, im hoping to have my tune finely adjusted with the MAF.
I am honestly hoping for a night and day difference between what I just ordered compared to my before setup. I know just switching from stock airbox to open element will make dirving difference (as far as sound) plus the tial wastegate.
What are your thoughts on the MAF blown through setups for mild setups like this?
I see methanol setup in the future.

I would go mafpro instead. Eliminate the restriction don't just reduce it. Plus mafpro doesn't have the moisture problems like the translator. And with the new firmware it has a nice idle.

Well the car had it on when I purchased it.
Couldnt find a local tuner that would mess with it. I'm not a tuner so I wasnt going to mess with it. I seen the power that the AEM makes and after a couple of months, decided thats the route I want to go. I think if you can tune yourself, and dont want to spend a bunch, its a good way to go.
