03whitegsr, This head will get tested by Buschur just like the intake did, and will be released only after his ok. Just a rough estimate, the new IX's should be right around what a Cosworth is selling for. I will speak to David about the VIII's Friday. vwjeff we will talk Friday also. Indy

i like the idea of the cnc head but not a fan of the O-ring head.. everytime it comes off for resurface or a blown gasket it complicates getting it back together IMO..

Mike have you had success running the power you do with a non o-ring'd head in terms of the head lifting?

Indy, what are your thoughts on head lifting under high boost and o-ring'ing?

yeah price would be a big deciding factor for me and if i remember correctly the cosworth built head is somewhere around 3-4 grand and if thats the case ill have to pass on this one cause my pockets aren't that fat!!!!

Cosworth CNC head, complete, no core $4,100.00. The Cosworth uses a brand new Mitsubishi casting and does the CNC and other modifications from there...

OR, if you have a good core already, and can live with the cheap CNC head that John Shepherd uses on his 7 second 1G you can pay $1399 and get it from here:

I have no doubt it will perform. Seems reasonable on price considering the quality it will likely have.

While comparing against the Cosworth, does anybody have test results of just a head swap on from a fairly fresh (less then say 10000 miles on the clock) stock head to the Cosworth?

UPDATE: David and I spoke and we are looking into doing this on the customers head for the VIII and the IX, with the option of the new casting for the IX. Thanks Mike, the o-rings would be an option.

Good idea, Indy. That will make the head much more competitive in cost, and keep the extra stock head off the parts shelf.
