There are people with Exedy twin disc clutches on here that have to get theirs adjusted as well but after paying $1200 for the clutch vs. $450 - $500 for the ACT single disc most aren't in here bragging about it. There are quite a few on here that have numerous launches on ACT clutches without issue.

Most people never come on here and admit that it could be them or the install, it's always the next guy. If you need a twin disk go buy one, but not every body making 350 ft. lbs of torque really needs one.
Couldn't have said it better. Comparing a 1200 dollar product to a 600 dollar product isn't exactly fair. Furthermore, clutch complaints come usually without technical explanations which lend credibility to the defect-cause. A clutch job isn't easy on an evo. There are a lot of small tricks to make it work smoothly and grab correctly that people overlook. This is for any clutch, not just ACT.

I just installed my ACT HD and its been perfect, you just need to make sure you adjust your clutch, but also make sure there's enough free play left in the pedal too. Some say the best way to do it is on jack stands, but you can get away without doing it this way if you must. Check the howto section for some help on adjusting the pedal, or check out the Tech section of evomoto.com.
