fuelpump/spark plug question
just moved this post.
I am planning to get my car tuned in the next 2 weeks and i have 2 questions do clear up.
Right now i have just BPU mods
which fuel pump should i get for a daily driven/weekend race car??? Walbro 255LPH or Walbro 255 HP??? whats the big difference if they both flow 255 leters per hour.. is one better for when u have your base fuel pressure raised???
second question, my spark plugs have not been changed in a while.. would you reccomend going with 1 step down colder plug?? like the NGK BPR8ES??? also what should i gap them for?? i dont plan on running more than 20/21 psi on the stock 10.5 turbo. i Always ran a step down colder plug in my dsm's but they were running much higher boost and much larger turbo. This is on stock turbo and just bolt on mods.

With the mods that you're running I think you'll be fine on Copper NGK bp7es plugs. As for the fuel pump question, I have no idea with a 255 HP pump is, but I'm running the 255lph "winebro" and have never had a fueling issue even at 430ish hp on a mustang dyno.

yeah.. i have always ran the standard Walbro 255lph on all my dsm's and never had a fueling issue, even with running 60 trim turbo's.. i was just seeing what this whole "HP" High pressure pump was all about. soo guess that question is solved, ill just order the standard pump i always ran.
as far as plugs go, would going down a step colder or maybe going to an iridium/ laser iridium plug benifit me at all??? the bpr8es's i ran in most of my cars and were always pretty good to me

so for running 20/21psi ish on the stock turbo their really is no need for me to go a step colder... im guessing running a copper plug or iridium /laser iridium wont make much difference either... i work for an auto parts store soo ill pick up a few different styles and try em out. also, for the gap, just stick with the stock .24? im guessing

yeah i was told that for turbo cars the copper plugs were defintly alot better and showed better results, that the iridiums were just used because they last longer. im not worried about lasting longer, ill do new plug with every oil change if i have too.
ill just pick up a few different plugs. Try em out. as far as gap ill stick to stock for now and i should be fine

alot of engine builders liek to use copper plugs versus any of these newer style iridiums simply cuz it's a waste of money. if you take care of yoru car the coppers will do fine. as far as gapping the plugs i suggest a slightly tighter gap if you go over 25psi. but being on 21. stock plugs are fine at stock gap. just my 2cents.
