ps. To be honest I never realised the ATP set-up was that bad - I was actually considering buying one before I decided to go with a custom set-up...

Definitely don't hone it out. The kit is not worth the hassle. I know a guy right now is selling an RNR manifold that will bolt up. Or to keep it simple get a t3 backhousing and go with the hafe manifold and 02 housing. Don't forget the tial 44mm. Then you will be extremely happy with the kit after.
Ya im thinking about buying that rnr setup thats forsale on here. im just tryen to get everything figured out first before i spend anymore money. and im deffinetly getting a 44mm, im pretty sure my 38 was making the boost creep about 5 or 6 psi on the dyno.

You've already spent the money, why not try to maximize what you have first?
Do a search, there are guys on this forumn that have made 480 and 500awhp with the atp3076r @ 28-30psi-- I can't see why a 35r would be maxed out at 375hp no matter how bad the reviews are on the atp products.
I know that there are better products out there, but the fact is you now own this one. Try to work out the bugs before you toss it.
Just a thought.
