Turbo upgrade gone bad

So i had some extra money laying around and i decided to upgrade my turbo to a atp 35r. the car has cosworth 272s, buschur intercooler piping, fmic, ets 3.5 exhaust, smc alky kit, arp head studs, dejon intake pipe, everything you need to make some decent numbers. the car made 406whp/415wtq on the old set up, now i cant get the thing to make over 375whp no matter what we do. someone please help me.

Details of install/tuning will help.

Check for boost leaks for starters.

AHAHAHAHA sorry to be a dick but have you not read about ATP before buying it? That kit is garbage. It is so laggy and makes nothing on pump. Sell it and get another kit.

i know there not the best kit but i got it for a pretty good deal (so i thought). it is very laggy and the turbo is even ported. i think they suck to now that i had to deal with this. i would NEVER recomend this kit to anyone at all. and if you can a link to a thread on the atp kit and you post it for me so i can read a little more about them.

The problem with it being so laggy is it doesnt have enough rpms to make the power. As it starts picking up momentum you run out of revs thats the reason people should stay away fromt eh 35r with this kit. I've had decent results with the smaller turbos but the only way youre going to get decent results is revving it up to 8500-9000....

Youre best bet is to sell the kit at a loss and move on.. The other option would be finding someone with a smaller turbo looking for an upgrade and making the swap. Theyre a really good concept and ATP typically makes great great products but i think they didnt put 110% into this one.

Cheers!

you made 406 on the stock turbo on meth...the IX also is a twin scroll manifold
i dont think the ATP is a twin scroll design which could be one part of the problem

Most of the kits arent TS... Technology has been out, but its been put for up for sale lately. Ets and Full race are two companies that i know of now selling this.

Cheers!

i know most kits arent twin scroll but were you using your oem manifold which is a twin scroll and bolting a non twin scroll turbo onto it? ATP claims bolt on, but i decided not to go that route from what I found on this forum

Did you check for play in the compressor? Could be a blown turbo. The other thing is....what boost level did you tune for? A laggy 35r like this kit isn't going to make power until 25psi+

You've got the meth kit, push it out to 30+ and see what it does.
