Project 10 second daily......

I am building myself a 10 second daily driver.......Here are some of the pictures.....It's a slow process because I have no prior experience in tearing out motors or tearing them apart or building them or anything like that. Prior to this the most I had done was install my own turbo kit, do my own tuning, etc.

Some of the parts I already have, some I need to order, but I'm giving myself a year to complete this project so I can take my time and learn everything.

Here is what's in the works.

Bottom End:
Buschur JE pistons
Crower Rods
Bored .020

Head:
GSC S2 cams
Springs and Retainers

NOOOOOOOOOO port and polish

Turbo:
T67 Stage 5 turbine
TurboTrix Manifold (My old 20g mani!)
TurboTrix intercooler pipes
APS BoV recirc
Tial 44mm WG
ETS or Buschur I/C (atleast 3 inch)

Driveline:
ACT 6 puck Sprung XT
ACT Prolite Flywheel
TurboTrix rebuilt trans

Tuning:
All me baby! Stock ECU to chase down some records, and then converting to AEM and teaching myself that system.....I'll be bugging the Dave Buschurs and Sean Ivey's of the world at that point for some tips.

Onward to the pictures! Keep in mind that all of this work is being done in my 1 car townhouse garage. How's that for grass roots!?

CLICK ON PICTURES TO SEE LARGER VERSION

Who'd have thunk that 10 second cars are germinated and born here!?!?!

I miss my CF front lip. I lost it during a high speed crash into some farmer's corn field =(

Remove stuff!!!! It was sad....I only had to remove like 2 10mm bolts to get my bumper off. That's a sign you take your bumper off too much.

That turbo friends....is a cool combo. GT61 compressor wheel, td06h turbine, 8cm^2 hotside. Made for 427awhp on Chad Block's dyno

That was seriously the first time I had ever pulled a valve cover off a car.

The man, the myth, the legend!

Spawn of the man, the myth, the legend!

Glass bead media blast is your friend!

It was a long battle, but I won.

I has a hoist

YANK!

It's no Honda motor, this bish is heavy.

Take motor in wife's exploder to Honda friend....mutter "Honda's are neat yaya, please help me tear this down, love you tons kiss kiss"

More pictures to come later!

I admire your DIY spirit 4TUN8 .

God knows how long it would take me (not counting all the time cursing and throwing tools around) to do all that work .

If I remember you were close to getting out of the Evo a few years back.

Good luck on your project.

good luck, I just went through this whole process my self. Went AEM instead of the quest for 10's on stock ecu.
Good luck with the build.
Just take your time and check everything twice... its not too bad

I agree with this guy, although I had done things of this nature long before the evo!

BTW, why going with a 67 as opposed to a 35? You can run 10's with both, and have better spool with the latter..

Yeah it doesn't seem too bad so far. I learned more about cars in a week then I had in the previous 3 years.
