Convert EVO 8 to Mivec?

Convert EVO 8 to Mivec?
Just curious if this is possible down the road. Not right away. I cannot seem to find an EVO 9 in blue anywhere within 2000 miles of me. (really wish they made a blue RS) And there is a 2005 I am looking at. What would all be needed to convert to mivec? Any info would be greatly appreciated. If it isn't worth it just tell me.

I think that you would need at least the long block, engine wire harness, and a EVO IX ECU.
I found this on the autotrader with a quick 5 minute search. This car is 2222 miles away from me so I think you can find one.

from what I've researched, you'll need the head, evo ix ecu and wiring harness and that should be it. you might pm akunochi. I talked to him about it since he's done the conversion. Most people will tell you its not worth the hassle and to just get a bigger turbo; I say be different and go for it

You will need at least the head, wiring harness and either stock ecu or standalone "which depending on which standalone you get could come with a harness" You will then have to either drill and tap a oil drain in the block for the mivec or get a IX block with the oil drain in it. Besides that you are good to go. Personally if you wanted to be different i would wait and do a X swap in the VIII. The IX into a VIII i dont think is really worth it but hey each his own i guess.

not worth it in my opinion.
yes mivec great and the car performs better with it. but you can spend that time and money on parts to make your non-mivec 4g63 faster, instead of putting you in the negatives by trying to convert it.
if you must convert, i say just buy a evo 9 motor and keep your evo 8 motor stored away
