I have seen several instances of the mivec cam being installed improperly. Just because the timing marks on the gears line up with the valve cover doesnt mean the timing is correct. If the cam was not installed correctly in the mivec cam gear, there will be issues.

remove the mivec cover again (4 bolts) and the 14mm head bolt. Look into the cam gear and see if the pin in the cam is in the hole in the gear. My guess is it is not aligned correctly.

we have a winner. I am sure the OP enjoyed that. Sounds like he took the gears off to install the cams and not the zip tie method then guessed that it looked ok. Probably gonna have to take off the timing belt cover and check your marks.

Did you get it running again? One rocker off hardly makes a difference at idle.

This is not a forum where you come on and say bring it to a mechanic. Most of the people on here know more than most of the mitsubishi techs. Also Dapper Dan has proved that he knows what he is doing. You are new to this site so get to know some of the common names.
