Is a Front LSD worth it?

So i just bought a 2003 Evo 8 and i found out that they didnt come with Front LSD's. So i was wondering if it was worth investing in installing one or not. If so , where can i find one and how much should i expect to pay?

Thanks in advance!

If the car is just daily driven, or not a track ***** then you dont need it.

depends on your build and your plans for the car.

I wouldn't replace it until it either breaks, or unless you're planning on doing competitive road racing.

TRE lists an OEM LSD at $800 + installation.

And LSD was my next mod on my list for my GTI, but that was FWD. On an AWD I dont know how big of a difference it would make...Im sure there would be one but not sure it would be worth it.

It's my daily driver. I'm planning on doing as much as i can with a stock turbo and stock internals. I drag race my car every other Saturday and i plan to start autocrossing it once a month. So you guys dont think i need it.

I've heard the Front LSD will reduce understeer, but does it help in drag racing at all?

Part of the reason I moved to a IX was b/c of the front LSD. I autox every now and then and I def feel the difference (stock 03 VIII vs stock IX).

In normal driving I don't feel a difference

I think it'll be a waste of money if you don't track your car

I have a RA front LSD in my 2003 and I can tell a big difference in handling and acceleration out of turns with the LSD compared to stock. I think it's a good mod to consider and it makes driving the car more fun.

Kaaz, ATS, Cusco, Ralliart, and Quaife all make replacement front diffs.

The Quaife is helical and the others are plated clutch type *I think*.
